At a time when eateries are offering discounts, freebies, desserts and drinks to encourage people to vote, multinational fast-food chain McDonald's has come up with a new advertisement to build awareness about the 'right to choose.'
In the ad, posted on the company's Twitter handle, McDonald's asks its customers to vote for a better tomorrow.
"We often take our right to choose for granted. But how does it feel if someone takes that right away? McDonald’s helped some of their customers realise just that," the restaurant chain said in the advert.
The ad shows McDonald's employees serving customers orders of their own choice, and not what they had asked for. When irate customers argued the staff about the wrong orders, the staff asks them whether they had exercised their voting right and shares a message: "When you give up your vote, you give up your right to choose".

McDonald's is also offering Rs 50 discount on various items in different cities to encourage voters to step out and vote.
Like McDonald's, companies such as Hero MotoCorp and Subway are also offering discounts to those who cast their vote.
Hero MotoCorp is offering two-wheeler wash and servicing of vehicles at Rs 199 as against its regular cost of Rs 500-Rs 600, reported The Economic Times. This offer is available for two days after polling day in every city in April and May, the report said.
Subway, on the other hand, is offering an 18 percent discount on food items to people who cast their vote.
