"We are planning to increase premium products," Gupta said.
Bata is at a record high having rallied 50 percent in the last one year. The numbers this quarter also looked good. The operational performance is quite strong and the bottomline has expanded nearly 40 percent boosted by the high-decibel 'come and be surprised' campaign.
“In our current range, women category provide 28-30 percent revenue,” he said.
The company is constantly taking cost-saving initiatives to grow margin, Gupta said, adding that the company is renegotiating the rentals with existing landlords and optimising our the retail space.
“Some of our retail stores which are in big format and as per our requirement if we need lesser space, we surrender surplus space to the landlords and we get substantial savings in this cost,” he said.
