Hindustan Unilever (HUL) beats estimates on all parameters in the fourth quarter--- domestic volumes report a eleven percent growth against expectations of six to eight percent. Management claims that "rural growth is back.
Dissecting the numbers, Naveen Kulkarni, Co-Head of Research, PhillipCapital said the good set of earnings are already factored in the stock price. Moreover, for next two quarters also the base is not high, and so the numbers will again look stronger, he said.
“I believe the stock will continue to be strong over next three months,” said Kulkarni.
The biggest takeaway from the numbers was the growth in homecare segment where one could see a shift from the informal to the formal sector. This could be a trend that would sustain going forward, said Kulkarni.
The house has upped EPS by 2 percent for FY19 and FY20 and correspondingly the target price has moved to Rs 1670 from Rs 1585
