Swedish home furnishings giant IKEA clocked in trade worth about Rs 6 crore on the opening day of its Hyderabad store , reported The Economic Times.

According to the report, the much awaited opening of its Hyderabad showroom was met with enthusiastic customers who thronged the shop in thousands.
Nearly 10,000 shoppers visited the store by 5pm, the report said citing a person associated with the arrangements at the store.
As per the report, the company executives and security personnel found it tough to manage the crowd that swelled after office hours and it was expected that the total number of visitors will be close to 40,000 by the end of the day.
The sales that accounted around Rs 1.8 crore by evening would probably reach the Rs 6 crore mark by 11 pm, according to the report.
