Future Group, led by Kishore Biyani, will be soon delivering milk, eggs and bread to the customers at their doorsteps, a segment which is currently controlled by Milk Basket, Supr Daily, reported The Economic Times.
Around 1,000 outlets under the Easyday, Nilgiris and Heritage brands of the Future Group are gearing up to deliver milk directly to homes, ET reported on Thursday.
According to the report, the service will be launched in metro cities within two weeks and will be expanded later.
Kishor Biyani, the CEO of the company, told the paper that other essentials like fruits, vegetables and grocery will also be added to the cart soon. Biyani added that the initiative is expected to generate an additional revenue of around Rs 20 lakh per store per month.
Earlier, the paper had reported that Swiggy and BigBasket were also looking at milk supply sector as their investment for the future.
According to the report, Swiggy, which is looking to expand into the grocery segment is in early talks to acquire subscription-based milk-delivery startup Supr Daily.
On the other hand, the report added that the Alibaba backed BigBasket held buyout talks with Pune-based RainCan, Gurgaon-based Milk Basket and Bengaluru-based Daily Ninja.
