NASDAQ listed e-commerce marketplace for handmade products, Etsy has officially launched its services in India. However, with brands like Myntra, Jaypore, and Craftsvilla already dominant in this space, what is Etsy's plan of action for India?

In an interview to CNBC-TV18, Himanshu Wardhan, MD – India at Etsy said, “If you are a reseller, you cannot sell a product on Etsy. What we are doing in India is also we are going out and reaching out to these sellers and handholding some sellers that requires some initial help to setup a shop on Etsy.”

“An artisan or an artist who is practicing traditional art form and they are probably not as digitally enabled and that is the category of seller that we are reaching out providing the service when they need it. We are not going to be in a very blanket way creating a lot of the support” he further added.
