03:48 PM EST, 11/14/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Tech stocks fell in late Thursday afternoon with the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) down 0.4% and the SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) shedding 0.9%.

The Philadelphia Semiconductor index fell 0.1%.

In corporate news, Alphabet's (GOOG) Google ( GOOG ) said its Gemini app is available on Apple's ( AAPL ) iPhone. Alphabet shares fell 1.9% while Apple ( AAPL ) rose 1.1%.

Quantum Computing ( QUBT ) shares jumped 64%, a day after the 93% surge after the company disclosed its first order for its thin-film lithium niobate photonic chip foundry.

Meta (META) was fined 797.7 million euros ($842.1 million) by the European Commission for violating EU antitrust rules by tying Facebook Marketplace to Facebook and by imposing trading conditions on other online classified ads service providers it deems unfair. Meta shares fell 1%.

Super Micro Computer ( SMCI ) shares tumbled 11%, a day after the company said it won't be able to file its quarterly report for the period ending Sept. 30 on time.
