The Philadelphia Semiconductor index climbed 0.9%.

In corporate news, the Competition Commission of India instructed Meta Platform's (META) WhatsApp to refrain from sharing user data for advertising purposes with other applications owned by the social media company for a five-year period, Reuters reported. Meta shares were rising 0.1%.
