03:34 PM EDT, 06/18/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks fell in late Tuesday afternoon trading with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) down 0.1% and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) shedding 0.3%.

In economic news, Redbook US same-store sales last week rose 5.9% from a year earlier after a 5.5% increase in the previous week.

In corporate news, Pluri ( PLUR ) shares jumped 4.8% after the company said subsidiary Ever After Foods secured $10 million in funding from US and EU investors for projects related to cultivated meat, fish and seafood production.
