Investors Look to End Week on Strong Note as US Futures Rise in Friday's Premarket
Dec 13, 2024 5:29 AM

08:05 AM EST, 12/13/2024 (MT Newswires) -- US stock futures were rising in Friday's premarket session as investors looked to end the week on a positive note.

Dow Jones Industrial Average futures were up 0.14%, S&P 500 futures gained 0.35%, and Nasdaq futures were rising 0.78%.

Oil prices were moving higher, with front-month global benchmarks Brent crude and West Texas Intermediate crude rising 0.64% and 0.67%, respectively.

The Baker Hughes rig count will be released Friday afternoon, which investors look to as a gauge for the oil drilling industry.

Among gaining shares, VCI Global ( VCIG ) jumped 40% in Friday's premarket session, following a nearly 5% loss the previous session. Loop Industries ( LOOP ) shares advanced 43% after it said Thursday that it secured 10 million euros ($10.5 million) through a convertible preferred security financing with Reed Societe Generale Group. And shares of TruGolf ( TRUG ) surged 25%, adding to Thursday's 18% gain.

On the losing side, Repare Therapeutics ( RPTX ) plunged 39% after it reported Thursday results from a phase 1 trial of cancer drugs lunresertib and camonsertib that disappointed investors. Candel Therapeutics ( CADL ) shares tumbled 31% after it said late Thursday that it priced a public offering of shares and pre-funded warrants for approximately $80 million in gross proceeds. And Inovio Pharmaceuticals ( INO ) dropped 30% after it priced an underwritten public offering of shares and warrants for gross proceeds of $30 million.
