Research Alert: CFRA Raises Opinion On Adss Of Joyy Inc. To Buy From Hold
Mar 27, 2025 1:00 AM

03:35 AM EDT, 03/27/2025 (MT Newswires) -- CFRA, an independent research provider, has provided MT Newswires with the following research alert. Analysts at CFRA have summarized their opinion as follows:

Following JOYY's ( YY ) 2024 earnings beat, we raise our 2025 EPS forecast to USD5.25 (significantly above our previous forecast of USD3.31, and above consensus), largely driven by JOYY's ( YY ) aggressive share buybacks. We initiate our 2026 EPS forecast at USD5.45. Our 12-month target price is cut to USD51 (from USD55), or at a P/E multiple of 9.7x our projected 2025 EPS. This is a steep ~50% discount to historical P/E levels, while management has also pointed to JOYY's ( YY ) market cap being close to its net cash position, implying significant undervaluation. While we acknowledge this, we believe the market's concerns over revenue sustainability and user retention justify a discount. Given its previous spotty track record on earnings delivery, we think further multiple expansion will require clear evidence of user stabilization and accelerated growth in high-margin non-livestreaming revenue streams, particularly from AI-driven monetization and advertising.
