Research Alert: CFRA Maintains Hold Opinion On Shares Of Electronic Arts Inc.
May 8, 2024 10:22 AM

12:45 PM EDT, 05/08/2024 (MT Newswires) -- CFRA, an independent research provider, has provided MT Newswires with the following research alert. Analysts at CFRA have summarized their opinion as follows:

We cut our 12-month target $5 to $140 on a P/E of 17.4x our CY 25 EPS view of $8.06, below its three-year historical average. We cut our FY 25 (Mar.) EPS view to $7.32 from $7.74 and set FY 26's at $8.37. EA posted Q4 EPS of $1.18 vs. $1.78, a $0.34 consensus miss. Revenue fell 15%, with net bookings -14% to $1.67B on slate timing. While EA SPORTS FC and Madden NFL drove earnings growth despite tough comps, performance was mixed with Apex Legends strength offset by FC mobile/online weakness lapping World Cup tailwinds. Management guided for live services growth of MSD in FY 25 led by FC and Apex, but a light pipeline of major releases or innovations cloud the near-term outlook. The anticipated EA SPORTS College Football 25 launch this summer should provide an uplift, though competitive risks loom with titles like GTA6 hitting the market. Overall, we see limited catalysts to drive an acceleration in growth given a sparse lineup. Absent a surprise hit, stock upside appears capped in the near term, in our view.
