09:55 AM EDT, 04/12/2024 (MT Newswires) -- CFRA, an independent research provider, has provided MT Newswires with the following research alert. Analysts at CFRA have summarized their opinion as follows:
MU has offered greater clarity surrounding its Taiwan facilities that were impacted by the earthquake. Although MU has yet to return to full production, fab production is recovering. MU cites no permanent impact on facilities, infrastructure, or tools, as well as no impact to its long-term DRAM supply availability. That said, MU does estimate that the earthquake will impact its DRAM supply in the current May-Q by up to a mid-single-digit percentage. We do think this is unlikely to have any major implication on near-term results as long as production returns; thus, we leave our estimates unchanged given pricing momentum continues to be to the upside. We remain bullish on MU's prospects through CY 25 given improved visibility from high-bandwidth memory momentum (HBM3e) and expectation that future GPUs (e.g., Blackwell this fall) will come with significantly greater memory content. This will tighten supply over the next 12-18 months, although we do see greater industry capital spending initiatives in CY 25.
