01:20 PM EDT, 04/04/2025 (MT Newswires) -- CFRA, an independent research provider, has provided MT Newswires with the following research alert. Analysts at CFRA have summarized their opinion as follows:
We lift our 12-month target to $1,100 from $1,080, nearly 56x our FY 26 (Aug.) EPS estimate of $19.76 (up from $19.58; FY 25 up to $18.29 from $18.00). We believe COST is well positioned to manage tariff risks given its membership-based model (fees account for roughly 50% of operating income), limited product assortment (gives bargaining power over suppliers), and strong value proposition. The recent membership fee increase will likely be reinvested into lower prices and higher wages, potentially driving wider price gaps with competitors. Near term, we could see a temporary boost from consumer stock-up activity and panic buying ahead of tariffs. Additionally, with gold prices at record highs, COST's gold and e-commerce sales should benefit. COST is also one of the few big-box retailers seeing strong growth in non-food categories like appliances, furniture, and small electronics. We note roughly one-third of COST's U.S. sales are imported, with less than half of those imports sourced from China, Mexico, or Canada.
