11:35 AM EDT, 04/25/2024 (MT Newswires) -- CFRA, an independent research provider, has provided MT Newswires with the following research alert. Analysts at CFRA have summarized their opinion as follows:
We cut our 12-month target by $2 to $15, 4.9x our 2025 EPS view (raised to $3.09 from $2.88; 2024 lifted to $2.39 from $2.14), below AAL's historical average of 9.0x. We think a discount is merited due to ongoing issues with Boeing (BA 161 **), causing further delays in new aircraft deliveries (expected delivery of 44 737 MAX variety aircraft between 2024 and 2026, which we believe could be pushed back by more than a year). Q1 LPS of -$0.35 vs. EPS of $0.05 missed consensus estimates by $0.05. Q1 revenues were up 3.1% Y/Y, driven by its international segment (+4.3%), while capacity rose 8.5%. AAL reiterated its 2024 guide, with expected earnings to be in range of $2.25-$3.25 per share, while capacity should grow by mid-single digits. In addition, AAL noted it anticipates generating around $2 billion in free cash flow for 2024 (vs. $1.8 billion in 2023); however, we believe that rising unit costs (maintenance and labor) could impact AAL's ability to meet its 2024 free cash flow goals.
