Lot of market experts say since 2018 could be a tough year of equities, one should stick to largecaps and don’t expect smallcaps and midcaps to do well given their huge move in 2017.
Pankaj Tiberwal Senior VP & Equity Fund Manager Kotak Mutual Fund says in the short-term all largecaps, midcaps, smallcaps my give similar kind of returns. However, if one were to look at a timeframe of 3-5 years then there are enough opportunities in the midcap and smallcap space, he added. Especially, look for domestic linked stories.
There is enough of opportunity for wealth creation in mid and smallaps over long-term, says Tiberwal.
In the near-tem, “2018 could be a year of consolidation for midcaps,” he says.
“FY19 could be a slightly difficult year in making high-digit returns, so investors need to moderate their return expectations,” says Tiberwal.
