Here are some of the changes that will make your filing of income tax return (ITR) easier.

No need of date of birth for logging-in to your account.

Earlier you had to give your date of birth to log on to your account on the website but this is not required anymore.

Access ITR documents without a password.

Earlier, you have to log on to the website using a password to access documents needed for filing the returns such as Form 26AS. Now, you can access those documents directly.

Choosing the verification method.

Now you can choose verification of ITR option at the time of providing details. Earlier the option was asked only at the end of the process making it quite rigid. The new option also allows users to change at the later stage after submission of your ITR.

Auto-populate option.

You can choose to auto-populate the fields selecting last year's ITR or Form 26AS. The website also gives the option of ‘auto-populate’ certain fields such as employee category, bank details, salary, enabling user to do the filing process without writing the same details again. But double-check the details to avoid any mistakes.
