Indian tea exports is at an all-time high, says Amar Tea
May 18, 2018 3:02 PM

Indian tea industry has recorded the highest ever production as well as exports in FY18. The total tea production was 1325.05 million kg.

Recently, exports have been at an all-time high because of the price fluctuation between Kenya and Sri Lanka, said Karan Shah, Director, Amar Tea.

"You have Kenya that is also exporting and Kenyan teas are lot similar to ours and their per capita consumption is a lot lower. So, you have that affecting the market as well in terms of exports," Shah told CNBC-TV18.

India is the second largest producer of the tea and consume 70% of what we produce.
