First budget of 'Amrit Kaal' will ensure rapid development of country: UP CM Adityanath

The first Union Budget of the "Amrit Kaal" will ensure rapid development of the country and Uttar Pradesh will benefit immensely from it, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Thursday. He said Uttar Pradesh will get a share of Rs 1.83 lakh crore as compared to Rs 1.46 lakh crore it had received in the previous budget and it will help the state government take up various development works."Seven opportunities have been addressed as ’saptarishi’ in the budget. The 'saptarishi' have been the founders of Indian systems under whose guidance the sanatan traditions of India grew and established India as the leader of the world," the chief minister said at a press conference.

Budget does not meet expectations of travel agents: TAAI

Travel agents apex body TAAI on Thursday expressed its "disappointment" over the Union Budget for financial year 2023-24, saying that it does not meet any of its expectations or demands. TAAI (Travel Agents Association of India), however, said it applauds the Finance Minister’s idea of promoting travel on a 'mission mode.' "With the Union Budget 2023-24, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has shown solidarity towards the tourism sector and has left the travel fraternity hopeful. However, there is a huge wave of disappointment among the travel agent fraternity as the budget holds nothing for this large section."

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday hailed the Union Budget and said his government will pitch for the setting up of various centrally-sponsored projects in the state.Sawant said his government will seek the establishment of the Artificial Intelligence Centre of Excellence, the Skill India Centre in Goa, among other initiatives. The CM expressed confidence the state will get Rs 2,000 crore for national highway works in fiscal 2023-24, adding his government will submit proposals worth Rs 500 crore for rural infrastructure development.

Budget 2023 has very little to offer for marginalised, say rights groups

The National Platform for the Rights of the Disabled (NPRD), in a statement, claimed that the Modi government has continued to neglect the disabled community.

NPRD said that in comparison to the previous year, there is merely a one percent rise in allocation for the sector. It also highlighted that the amount allotted for FY23 was underutilized by Rs 196 crore.

"This year's budget has been no different as far as the disabled community is concerned. They continue to be condemned to the margins and neglected, high-sounding rhetoric like 'inclusive India' notwithstanding," it said.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Thursday termed the Union Budget 2023-24 as "development-centric," and said it reflects Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision to make India a developed country.

"The Centre presented a development-centric budget on Wednesday. Along with the aim of making our country 'aatmanirbhar' (self-reliant), this budget reflects PM Narendra Modi's roadmap to make India a developed country. The budget will also prove beneficial for Gujarat," Patel told reporters.

Through this budget, the Centre gave income tax relief of Rs 10,000 crore to the cooperative sugar industry of the country. This will also benefit many sugar cooperative societies in Gujarat," he said.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday, pointing at allocation reductions for the MGNREGA and PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, expressed his disappointment with the Budget 2023 presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman yesterday.
