04:07 PM EDT, 10/17/2024 (MT Newswires) -- The US Treasury reported Thursday that there was a net combined $79.2 billion inflow of long-term, short-term and banking flows in August, compared with a $159.1 billion inflow in July.
Long-term securities transactions represented a $111.4 billion inflow while short-term transactions were a net $65.7 billion inflow, but bank liabilities were a net $97.9 billion outflow.
By country, Japan remained the largest holder of Treasury securities with $1.129 trillion.
