Standard & Poor's 500 and the Nasdaq declined 0.2% each in premarket activity, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 0.1%. Asian exchanges were tracking in the green, while the majority of European bourses were trending downwards midday on the continent.
The consumer price index report for September is scheduled for an 8:30 am ET release. Also on Thursday's economic calendar, the weekly jobless claims bulletin is out at 8:30 am followed by the weekly EIA domestic natural-gas supplies report at 10:30 am.
Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook is set to speak at 9:15 am, while Richmond Fed President Thomas Barkin speaks at 10:30 am. New York Fed President John Williams is slated to speak at 11 am.
Delta Air Lines ( DAL ) , Domino's Pizza (DPZ), Neogen (NEOG) and Tilray Brands ( TLRY ) are expected to report their latest financial results before the bell, among others.
Before the open, bitcoin inched 0.1% higher to $61,035, West Texas Intermediate crude oil advanced 1.4% to $74.28 per barrel, yields on 10-year Treasuries increased 1.1 basis points to 4.08% and gold inclined 0.3% to $2,634 an ounce.
