MUMBAI, March 19 (Reuters) - STOCKS:
The benchmark BSE Sensex fell 735.32 points, or 1.01%,
to 72,013.1, while the broader NSE index lost 237.95
points, or 1.08%, to 21,817.75 ahead of U.S. Federal Reserve's
rate decision and commentary on Wednesday, which could impact
the extent of foreign fund inflows into the market.
RUPEE:
The Indian rupee weakened 0.17% versus the U.S. dollar,
and quoted at 83.04 per dollar, pressured by broad strength in
the greenback and consistent dollar demand from state-run banks.
GOVERNMENT BONDS:
The benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 100.62
rupees, with the yield little changed at 7.0871% as traders
await Fed policy decision.
OVERNIGHT INDEX SWAPS:
The one-year overnight index swap rate was up 1
bp at 6.73%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate
rose 2 bps to 6.34%.
CALL MONEY/REPOS:
India's overnight call money rate was down 30 bps at
6.20%. The overnight TREPS rate was at 6.34%,
compared with the previous day's weighted average of 6.5258%.
