From continental Europe, the gainers were led by medical device maker EDAP TMS ( EDAP ) and biopharmaceutical company Genfit ( GNFT ) , which advanced 11% and 2.6% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company argenx (ARGX) and electronics conglomerate Philips (PHG), which increased 1.9% and 1.8% respectively.
The decliners from continental Europe were led by semiconductor company Sequans Communications ( SQNS ) and biopharmaceutical company Grifols ( GRFS ) , which fell 3.5% 2.4% respectively. They were followed by telecommunications company Ericsson (ERIC) and pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) , which dropped 2.2% and 2.1% respectively.
From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical companies Bicycle Therapeutics ( BCYC ) and Mereo BioPharma Group ( MREO ) , which rose 5.5% and 5.1% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company NuCana ( NCNA ) and biotech firm Trinity Biotech ( TRIB ) , which were up 5% and 3.5% respectively.
The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical company Biodexa Pharmaceuticals ( BDRX ) , which lost 9.4%. It was followed by financial services company Barclays ( JJCTF ) and communications company WPP ( WPP ) , which were down 1.1% and 0.5% respectively.
