From continental Europe, the gainers were led by biotech company BioNTech (BNTX) and 3D printer company Materialise (MTLS), which rose 4.4% and 4.1% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Grifols ( GRFS ) and pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) , which were up 0.6% and 0.1% respectively.
The decliners from continental Europe were led by biotech company Evaxion Biotech ( EVAX ) and semiconductor company Sequans Communications ( SQNS ) , which fell 5.2% and 4% respectively. They were followed by lender ING (ING) and software firm SAP (SAP), which dropped 2.2% and 1.9% respectively.
From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company Akari Therapeutics ( AKTX ) and telecommunications operator Vodafone Group ( VOD ) , which increased 4% and 2.8% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Bicycle Therapeutics ( BCYC ) and lender Barclays ( JJCTF ) , which were up 0.9% and 0.6% respectively.
The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical company TC Biopharm ( TCBP ) and biotech company Trinity Biotech ( TRIB ) , which lost 15% and 3.7% respectively. They were followed by educational publishing company Pearson (PSO) and biopharmaceutical company Verona Pharma ( VRNA ) , which were down 2.3% and 2% respectively.
