10:40 AM EST, 11/07/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Asian equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were surging higher Thursday morning, rising 2.20% to 2,127.67 on the S&P Asia 50 ADR Index.
From North Asia, the gainers were led by healthcare platform 111 (YI) and financial services company CNFinance ( CNF ) , which climbed 9.9% and 7.7% respectively. They were followed by polysilicon manufacturer Daqo New Energy ( DQ ) and internet and data services provider VNET Group ( VNET ) , which advanced 7.6% and 6.8% respectively.
The decliners from North Asia were led by computer hardware maker Canaan (CAN) and online educational platform 51Talk Online Education Group ( COE ) , which fell 4.4% and 2.4% respectively. They were followed by mobile app developer Cheetah Mobile ( CMCM ) and ecommerce fashion platform MOGU ( MOGU ) , which dropped 1.8% and 1.4% respectively.
From South Asia, the gainers were led by telecommunications operators Telekomunikasi Indonesia (TLK) and PLDT ( PHI ) , which rose 2.4 and 2.3% respectively. They were followed by IT firm Sify Technologies ( SIFY ) and tech conglomerate Sea (SE), which were up 1.2% and 0.3% respectively.
The lone decliner from South Asia was Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (RDY), which was off 0.8%.
