Asian Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Climb Higher in Wednesday Trading

10:40 AM EDT, 10/16/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Asian equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were tracking higher Wednesday morning, rising 0.97% to 2,096.25 on the S&P Asia 50 ADR Index.

From North Asia, the gainers were led by education company Four Seasons Education ( FEDU ) and internet and data center services provider VNET Group ( VNET ) , which rose 8.7% and 7.9% respectively. They were followed by used car ecommerce platform Uxin ( UXIN ) and biotech firm Zai Lab ( ZLAB ) , which increased 5.9% and 5.1% respectively.

The decliners from North Asia were led by pet-focused platform Boqii ( BQ ) and mobile big data platform Aurora Mobile ( JG ) , which tumbled 8.1% and 5.4% respectively. They were followed by diagnostic imaging centers company Concord Medical Services ( CCM ) and automotive ecommerce platform TuanChe ( TC ) , which dropped 5% and 4.8% respectively.

From South Asia, the gainers were led by IT firm Sify Technologies ( SIFY ) and tech conglomerate Sea (SE), which rose 3.6% and 3.4% respectively. They were followed by telecommunications operator Telekomunikasi Indonesia (TLK) and financial services company HDFC Bank ( HDB ) , which were up 3.1% and 1.1% respectively.

The lone decliner from South Asia was IT firm Infosys ( INFY ) , which was down 0.5%.
