Oil-to-telecom conglomerate Reliance Industries is set to hold its 42nd annual general meeting on Monday where Chairman Mukesh Ambani is expected to make key announcements related to Reliance JioPhone and Jio GigaFiber. Last year during the 41st AGM, Ambani announced the launch of GigaFiber in 1,100 cities of India simultaneously making it the largest fixed-line broadband GigaFiber launch in the world.

At the AGM, it was announced that the newly formed telecom subsidiary of RIL, Reliance Jio Infocomm had over 25 million users in the company.

A fixed-line broadband service Jio Gigafiber was launched.

Jio phones got added features including Facebook, YouTube and WhatsApp.

It was also announced that Jio has now become the country's most widespread mobile network and a larger reach than even the 2G players.

The company also said that it is the largest Goods and Services Tax (GST), excise and customs duty and income taxpayer in the country.

JioPhone 2 was available at an introductory price of Rs 2,999 from August 15. The company also announced the registration for Gigafiber would also begin from August 15.

The company also announced the launches of Jio Giga Router, Jio GigaTV set-top box and Jio Smart Home Solutions during its last AGM.

In a seasonal sale, the company announced that the JioPhone users can exchange their existing feature phones for a new JioPhone at just Rs 501.

The company further announced that while Reliance Trendz continues to be the largest apparel seller in , Reliance Digital is the largest seller of electronics and digital products in the country.
