Nestle India expects volume growth between 7-10%
Sep 21, 2018 2:04 AM

Nestle India is expecting to maintain volume growth between 7-10 percent going forward, said Suresh Narayan, chairman and managing director of the company.

FMCG companies were big buzzers earlier this month before seeing an equally steep correction.

“It has been a sustained volume growth across categories. Growth has been secular, it has been all across geographies,” said Narayan.

He said although the company has more play in urban India, growth in rural India has also picked up in the last couple of quarters. “Confident of this trend continuing for a while,” he said.

With regards to breakfast cereal NesPlus, he said the firm had a very encouraging response and reached almost 26 million people. "It shows that there is demand for good quality nutritious products pan India. Sold one pack every three seconds on Amazon Prime," the MD said.

“We have become a full play credible breakfast company starting from milk, to coffee to yogurts to breakfast cereals, oat and atta noodles, we have a full range that can become a credible platform for everyday breakfast movements of people,” said Narayan. The Maggi Special Masala also had terrific response, which was sold on Flipkart, he added.

When asked if the company was looking at Horlicks acquisition, he said the company did not want to react to speculation.
