Homegrown FMCG major Marico on Tuesday reported a 12 percent year-on-year (YoY) jump in net profit at Rs 251.7 crore for the third quarter ended December 2018.
In the corresponding quarter last year, the company posted a net profit of Rs 223.28 crore.
CNBC-TV18 Polls had predicted a profit of Rs 256 crore for the quarter under review.
Revenue from operations grew 14 percent to Rs 1,861 crore in the quarter under review as against Rs 1,624 crore in the same period last fiscal, Marico said in a BSE filing.
The company also announced a second interim equity dividend for financial year 2018-19 at Rs 2.5 per equity share of Re 1 each.
During the period under review, the earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) up by 15.8 percent to Rs.349 crore from Rs 309.3 crore posted last year.
Stock of the company closed 0.40 percent up at Rs 368 on the BSE.
