Future Group likely to team up with Generali

After Amazon and Flipkart, Future group may soon enter the insurance distribution business, said sources. The company is in talks with Italy's Generali to form a joint venture.

Future group is likely to hold 51% stake in the JV while Generali will hold 49 percent.The company is expected to file papers for the new venture with IRDA by December and plans to start operations by end of the current financial year.

It is looking to distribute insurance products through its 1,035 retail outlets in 321 cities. Future group could tie-up with three life, general and health insurance cos post IRDA nod.

Future Group already operates life and general insurance cos in JV with Generali group.
