Fancy a political party-themed umbrella or a 3D-face mask of your favourite political leader? The e-commerce space is buzzing with election-related merchandise.

Retailers are cashing in on the election wave with a whole range of products across various categories. Election-related merchandise is seeing huge demand from many buyers on websites like Flipkart, Amazon as well as Snapdeal.

According to Snapdeal, many orders for such products are coming from states like Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra.

CNBC-TV18 surveyed top e-commerce websites to get a sense of the number and type of election-related products that are available and categories like Tech, Apparels, Accessories and Household topped the list.

A large assortment of products in the tech space included pen drives, power banks as well as phone covers. While most power banks available online have political party symbols printed on them, the phone covers have faces of prominent leaders.

Right from sarees to t-shirts to scarves, there is a significant innovation in the apparels space. While t-shirts have slogans printed on them, sarees have faces of political leaders and scarves have patterns with slogans printed on the fabric.

The most common election-related accessories included caps, watches and keychains. Watches are available for as low as Rs 300. The household segment is also seeing a huge demand for mugs, bottles and fridge magnets.

Over and above these basic categories, the 'random stuff' section is the most fun to look at and shop for. 3D face masks of political leaders, car and bike stickers and badges with slogans on them are available in plenty on online platforms. The most unique offering is the BJP-themed velvet turban and folding umbrella!

It doesn't matter if you buy these products or not, but they are definitely worth a look.

2020 has been a brutal year for businesses, so much so that the volume of bankruptcies this year has surpassed that of 2008. From the travel and hotel space to the energy sector, businesses across industries suffered for months as the COVID-19-induced lockdown put brakes on economic activities across the world. However, retailers selling non-essential goods have been the worst-affected with many of these names emerging among the biggest bankruptcies of 2020. As per S&P Global Market Intelligence, 610 firms have filed for bankruptcies as of December 13, the highest since 2012. Retailers like J.C. Penney, Neiman Marcus, and J.Crew, car rental giant Hertz, mall operator CBL & Associates Properties are some of the names that have been listed in Fortune’s list of ‘14 of the biggest bankruptcies of 2020'. The 14 bankruptcies happen to be from the US as the valuations of liabilities remain higher than those of others. Here’s a look at these companies and their liabilities, as mentioned by Fortune:
