India's second largest tyre manufacturer, Apollo Tyres has defended its decision to reappoint Neeraj Kanwar as the Managing Director of the company.

The management, in a letter to CNBC-TV18, has reiterated that the board has unanimously approved Kanwar's reappointment.

The vote of confidence held after the minority shareholders of Apollo Tyres voted against bringing Kanwar back as the MD of the company.
