Amazon India saw robust growth across categories during festive sales as more than 50 percent of total online customers shopped from the etailer's website, says country manager Amit Agarwal.
"Based on the data we have, more than 50 percent of total online Indian customers shopped on Amazon during this festive sale," Agarwal said. "Across our categories, we continue to see very robust growth."
Amazon Fashion was the leading category in terms of new customer acquisition, he said, adding that large appliances category saw 2.5 times growth against last year and fashion grew more than 100 percent.
"We use analysis based on our own data and external credited organisations that have scientific methodologies to make claims," Agarwal said.
"More than half of online Indian shoppers chose Amazon.in and we were also the most visited and transacted website. All our growth metrics indicated that this surpassed our most ambitious plan and we are super excited," he added.
