For the longest time, political parties in the country have discounted the urban voter might in elections. Parties have ignored cities that generated the highest revenues and focussed on rural India, which has more seats in Lok Sabha.

However, after India's urbanisation process accelerated, cities vote matter, especially in closely fought elections. The turnout of the urban voter has also improved commendably, between 2009 general elections when only 53 percent of urban voters turned out to 62 percent in 2014 general elections.

CNBC-TV18's Manisha Natarajan spoke to experts about two NCR cities namely Ghaziabad and Noida, which go to poll on April 11, and discussed what's top on the agenda for citizens and will the political candidates deliver on their expectations.
