Pakistan foreign minister to attend OIC meeting in UAE, but won't meet Sushma Swaraj
Feb 28, 2019 7:35 AM

Pakistan foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has reportedly said that he will attend the upcoming meeting of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) scheduled for next month in the UAE, reported Al Jazeera.

However, the report said he will not hold a meeting with India’s foreign minister Sushma Swaraj on the sidelines of the OIC meeting. The report also added that the minister was willing to meet Swaraj elsewhere.

Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi says will attend OIC meeting, but will now meet with Indian FM Sushma Swaraj on sidelines. Is ready to meet FM Swaraj elsewhere, he says.

— Asad Hashim (@AsadHashim) February 28, 2019Earlier, the minister had threatened to boycott the meeting if Swaraj participated in the event after she was invited as a "guest of honour" at the inaugural session of the OIC foreign ministers' conclave in Abu Dhabi.

"I have no reservations with the OIC or any other Islamic country. My reservations are with Indian foreign minister Sushma Swaraj's attendance at the OIC meeting," Qureshi was quoted as saying by various reports.
