Pakistan airspace opened for stranded flights, active traffic still suspended
Feb 28, 2019 7:19 AM

Pakistan opened up its airspace to let some stranded flights exit the country, leading to confusion about opening up of airspace for active air traffic.

Following a revised NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) for suspension of Pakistan airspace, a senior official at Airports Authority of India (AAI) said that “the new NOTAM says closure extended till 1330 IST of Friday.”

While Pakistan International Airlines, the national flag carrier of Pakistan, earlier said it will today resume some of its operations to Saudi Arabia and UAE on the basis of temporary opening up of Pakistan airspace limits, it soon released another tweet informing passengers of suspension of today.

#Pakistan to restore its airspace for commercial aviation temporarily.
