The #MeToo movement in India has gathered momentum in recent days, with more than a dozen complaints of sexual harassment and other sexual misconduct levelled online against prominent journalists, actors, movie directors, comedians and other public figures.
The media industry too has not been left unscathed by the campaign - which is a spontaneous outpouring of women recounting experiences of sexual misconduct and harassment that they faced at workplaces.
The Editors Guild on Tuesday issued a statement condemning 'predatory conduct by such men.' It also went on to say that the guild is committed to ensuring that the legal rights of either the victims or the accused are not violated in any way.
CNBC-TV18 caught up with writer and director Vinta Nanda and Shekhar Gupta, president of Editors Guild where they discussed how sexual misconduct and harassment at workplaces can be tackled.
With inputs from Reuters.
