BSP chief Mayawati on Saturday announced that her party and the Samajwadi Party (SP) will fight together in an alliance in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
She described the alliance as a new political revolution that will rob Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bharatiya Janata Party National President Amit Shah off their sleep.
Addressing a press conference jointly with SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, she said the alliance has the capacity to stop the BJP from coming to power again.
The BSP leader announced that both BSP and SP will contest in 38 seats each in UP, while two seats have been left for other parties. In addition, Amethi and Rae Bareli have been left for congress.
Congress and BJP have a record of rampant corruption
On why they are not joining hands with the Congress, the BSP supremo said that the latter’s record is same as that of BJP. Stating that both BJP and Congress have a record of rampant corruption, Mayawati added that one of the biggest defence scams, Bofors, happened during the Congress rule.
Taking a direct shot at BJP, Mayawati said that the ruling party will get an answer for Rafale scam in upcoming elections.
