Lakhan Singh Yadav of Congress is leading Anoop Mishra of BJP in the Bhitarwar constituency in Madhya Pradesh by 3,457 votes.

Yadav has received 27,288 votes so far, while Mishra has secured 23,831 at 4.30 pm, according to information trickling out of the Election Commission.

Mishra is the nephew of former prime minister late Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The seat was won by Lakhan Singh Yadav of the Congress in 2013 Madhya Pradesh assembly elections.

Madhya Pradesh is one of the five states where elections were held between November 12 and December 7, 2018. These polls are seen as a bellwether of the 2019 general elections.
