Assembly Elections 2018: BJP releases first list of 177 candidates for Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj to contest from Budhni

The incumbent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday released the first list of 177 candidates for Madhya Pradesh assembly elections. CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan will contest from Budhni, while state ministers Narottam Mishra and Yashodhara Raje Scindia will contest from Datia and Shivpuri, respectively.

In addition to Madhya Pradesh, BJP also released a list of 24 candidates for Mizoram and 28 candidates for Telangana assembly elections.

The candidate names were finalized in the election committee meeting attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president Amit Shah and Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Voting for Madhya Pradesh legislative assembly polls will be held in a single-phase elections on November 28 to elect members of the 230 constituencies.

Voting for Chhattisgarh legislative assembly elections will be conducted in two-phases on November 12 and November 20.

Mizoram assembly elections will be held on November 28, while Rajasthan and Telangana legislative assembly elections will take place on December 7.

Counting of votes will take place on December 11.
