Saudi Arabia’s crown prince Mohammed Bin Salman is due to land in India later today, marking his maiden official visit to the country. India is likely to raise the issue of Pakistan-sponsored terrorism with the crown prince even as the two countries will look at further enhancing defence ties.
A joint statement will be issued by India and Saudi Arabia on terrorism. Pulwama attack will definitely be on the table. Prime Minister Modi would like to brief the crown prince on what led to Pulwama attack, how Pakistan based terror groups are in complicit and how Pakistan is not taking any responsibility of breeding such terrorists.
Having said that, there is also a question mark on India’s diplomatic effort on that front with the crown prince of Saudi Arabia considering recent events where he pledged USD 20 billion in investment in Pakistan’s government and private sector over the next 4-5 years. During a joint statement in Pakistan, Saudi's crown prince appreciated Pakistan’s effort for combating terror and having a dialogue with India .
