Puducherry Minister R Kamalakannan has allegedly been robbed of his mobile phone when he was taking a stroll on the beach road here, police said on Tuesday.

The Education and Agriculture Minister, dressed in a T-shirt and half-trousers, was walking on Monday night without any security, when a motorcycle-borne gang snatched the phone away while he was speaking on it, the police said.

Cases have been registered and the cyber crime police were examining CCTV footage in the vicinity to track the alleged culprits.
