The situation in Maharashtra politics is changing by the hour. The NCP, Shiv Sena, and Congress came together on Monday evening for a show of strength in Mumbai.

The Maha Vikas Aghadi is claiming it has the support of 162 MLAs and this is comfortably past the halfway mark of 145. Sharad Pawar, Supriya Sule, Uddhav Thackeray were all seen at the Grand Hyatt hotel.

The apex court will pronounce its order on Maharashtra government formation and the governor's decision to appoint Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar as CM and Deputy CM. BJP is claiming that they have the support of all 54 NCP MLAs.

To discuss the situation in Maharashtra, CNBC-TV18 spoke to Syed Zafar Islam spokesperson of BJP, Neerja Chowdhury senior journalist political analyst, Shailesh Pandey leader of Shiv Sena and Randeep Surjewala spokesperson of Congress.

Zafar Islam said, "We have the number and we are confident. Sometimes you see something but actually the story is very different. They are overly concerned, overly worried and that is why they are keeping their flock together. We have staked claim purely because we have the number. It is not for us to prove that in hotel Grand Hyatt or courtroom or even in media, what we have to do is whenever it is put in motion and we have to prove it on the floor of the Vidhan Sabha, we will certainly prove our number and majority."

Randeep Surjewala said, "Three facets are extremely clear in Maharashtra - One, a government led by Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar was sworn in in a midnight drama to murder democracy without a popular mandate. Two, all the constitutional institutions including the office of governor was subverted none less than home minister Amit Shah and the Prime Minister himself. Three, Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar do not have the requisite magic number of 145. We produced today 154 affidavits of the legislators - 48 of NCP out of 54, all 56 of the Shiv Sena and all 44 of the Congress party besides independents which reflects that the alliance constituted in favour of Maharashtra has the requisite magic number. The moment a floor test is held, this illegitimate government of Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar will fall like a house of cards."

Neerja Chowdhury said, "I think BJP thought Ajit Pawar will be able to break away more MLAs, maybe half the party he will be able to bring over and as the leader of the legislature party he gave all 54 signatures to the governor from what the reports say. However, the NCP side says that those signatures were given on another document and not on the letter of support."
