Online classifieds company Infoedge reported a weak set of earnings for its fourth quarter a one-time loss of Rs 70.3 crore. The ad spends jumped up sharply and impacted margins. It reported a net loss at Rs 13.7 crore versus profit of Rs 32.9 crore year on year. EBITDA margins at 24.6 percent versus 28.7 percent.
He said the losses for 99Acres declined in FY18 and also gained shares in all the geographies. The collections also increased 43 percent n Q4 and 54 percent in Q3. The losses in the quarter widened due to higher ad spends, said Oberoi.
However, 99Acres responded well to the ad spends and the company is very happy with the performance.
Major part of ad spending was for 99Acres and Jeevansathi, he said. The focus with regards to Jeevansathi is on volume growth than revenue growth. The volume growth for that business was 40 percent in Q4, while revenues grew at 10 percent.
“As long as we keep getting volume growth for Jeevansathi, we would like to continue to invest in marketing,” said Oberoi.
