May 21 (Reuters) - The tech-heavy Nasdaq and the
benchmark S&P 500 opened lower on Tuesday amid policy caution
from Federal Reserve officials ahead of the central bank's
meeting minutes and as investors awaited AI chip leader Nvidia's ( NVDA )
earnings this week.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 2.37 points, or
0.01%, at the open to 39,804.40. The S&P 500 opened lower
by 9.44 points, or 0.18%, at 5,298.69, while the Nasdaq
Composite dropped 58.78 points, or 0.35%, to 16,736.10
at the opening bell.
