09:13 AM EST, 02/26/2025 (MT Newswires) -- US equity futures rose ahead of Wednesday's opening bell as traders awaited earnings results from artificial intelligence chip market bellwether Nvidia ( NVDA ) .
The Dow Jones Industrial Average futures gained 0.1%, S&P 500 futures increased 0.4%, and Nasdaq futures were up 0.6%.
Nvidia ( NVDA ) is scheduled to release its quarterly earnings after the closing bell.
Oil prices were higher, with front-month global benchmark North Sea Brent crude up 0.1% at $72.55 per barrel and US West Texas Intermediate crude up 0.2% at $69.08 per barrel.
New home sales, scheduled for release at 10 am ET, are seen dropping to a 679,000 annual rate in January from 698,000 in December, according to estimates compiled by Bloomberg.
In other world markets, Japan's Nikkei closed 0.3% lower, Hong Kong's Hang Seng ended 3.3% higher, and China's Shanghai Composite finished 1% higher. Meanwhile, UK's FTSE 100 gained 0.7%, and Germany's DAX index rose 1.8% in Europe's early afternoon session.
In equities, shares of Enveric Biosciences ( ENVB ) soared past 161% pre-bell after the company said it received a US patent covering mescaline derivative compounds with potential application in addiction and neuropsychiatric disorders.
On the losing side, Flywire ( FLYW ) shares retreated 35% after the company reported late Tuesday it swung to a Q4 net loss. Grocery Outlet ( GO ) shares fell more than 28% after the company reported late Tuesday lower fiscal Q4 earnings.
