01:46 PM EDT, 04/11/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Tech stocks were mixed Friday afternoon, with the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) rising 2.2% and the SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) fractionally lower.

The Philadelphia Semiconductor index rose 2%.

In corporate news, Microsoft ( MSFT )-backed (MSFT) OpenAI has scaled back the duration and depth of safety testing for its latest artificial intelligence systems, the Financial Times reported. Microsoft ( MSFT ) shares advanced 1.6%.
