The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) fell 1.8%.
In corporate news, NewGenIvf ( NIVF ) shares fell 34% after the company terminated an agreement with European Wellness Investment for a reverse merger.
Shares of several vaccine companies slumped after Peter Marks, the US Food and Drug Administration vaccine chief, resigned late Friday, citing conflicts with Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Moderna ( MRNA ) fell 8.9%, Novavax ( NVAX ) dropped 8.5% and BioNTech (BNTX) declined 4%.
