03:40 PM EDT, 04/09/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Health care stocks rose late Wednesday afternoon with the NYSE Health Care Index adding 3% and the Health Care Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLV) gaining 3.5%.

The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) climbed 5.4%.

In corporate news, Anixa Biosciences ( ANIX ) shares surged 12% after the company said it received a notice of allowance from the US Patent and Trademark Office for its breast cancer vaccine technology.
