09:14 AM EDT, 04/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Financial stocks declined pre-bell Thursday with the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) 1.2% lower recently.

The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares ( FAS ) was down 3.9% and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares ( FAZ ) was 4.4% higher.

Virtus Investment Partners ( VRTS ) shares fell past 3% after the company reported preliminary assets under management of $167.46 billion as of March 31, down from $174.53 billion a month earlier.

UBS (UBS) Chairman Colm Kelleher said Switzerland's current reform plans would increase the bank's capital requirements by 50%, according to a FactSet transcript of the company's general annual meeting. UBS shares were down more than 2% premarket.

Goldman Sachs ( GS ) Asset Management has entered a partnership with Mashreq, the Dubai-based bank said. Shares of Goldman Sachs ( GS ) were over 2% lower pre-bell.
